Sucker Punch at the San Diego Comic-Con International

San Diego Comic-Con International, commonly known as Comic-Con is traditionally a four-day event (thrusday to sunday) with a four-hour preview night on wednesday open to professionals, exhibitors and some guests. It is held during the summer in San Diego, California, United States at the San Diego Convention Center. Comic-Con is both the name of the annual event and the common name of the organization.

It originally showcased comic books, science fiction and film/television represented by the three circled figures in Comic-Con's original logo. Over the years the convention has expanded to include large range such as horror, anime, manga, animation, toys, collectible card games, video games, web comics and fantasy novels.

When Sucker Punch was introduced at Comic Con this July, it didn't create much excitement from the crowd.

Before showing the sucker punch footage Snyder brought out the main cast Emily Browning, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens, Carla Guino and Jamie Chung. The cast mentioned how excited they were to be there specially that it was their first time to see any footage of the movie. They didn't say anything much about the movie only that they had to learn fight and dance choreography and Snyder revealed the presence of a big twist/ revelation at the end.

The crowd was all in anticipation of the footage to be shown. It lasted for 3 minutes and started with the song "When the Levee Breaks" by Led Zeppelin. There were guns, planes, Nazis, robots and dragons in the clip and resembles nothing seen before, very original.

Snyder mentioned that this is his first original project after Dawn of The Dead, 300 and Watchmen. It was impressive how over the years Snyder has evolved from being a commercial director to an original blockbuster writer/director.
